  • Noopept

Noopept is a one of the most popular nootropics due to its enhancing properties and high potency. Originally synthesized in 1996 in Russia, Noopept has become well known in recent years and is used all around the world.

Anecdotal reports say that Noopept can have a mild stimulating effect while improving memory and learning performance, reducing anxiety and mellowing effects of depression.

According to research, Noopept is around 1000 times higher in potency than its relative Piracetam of the racetam family. This allows for very small dosages to have the same effect than those of other brain boosting supplements taken in much higher dosages.

Compound Structure

Chemical Name
ethyl 2-[[(2S)-1-(2-phenylacetyl)pyrrolidine-2-carbonyl]amino]acetate
Molecular Formula
Molecular Weight
318.373 g/mol

Due to its potency, most sources recommend dosages not to exceed 10-40mg per day, spread across morning, midday and night. It is believed that smaller dosages three times a day is preferable over a high dosage at a time. Noopept should not be taken for more than 2 weeks constantly and a break of at least one week should be taken in between.

Noopept can be stacked with a number of other nootropic supplements.

Piracetam and Choline or Aniracetam and Sulbutiamine

Although Noopept is relatively well tolerated by most consumers, it can cause some common side effects such as headaches, restlessness, dizziness, and irritability. These side effects occur more frequent in connection with high dosages.

As with any supplement people with medical conditions should take great care and consult their doctor prior consumption. High dosages of Noopept are not recommended.
